TIP# 1

Get yourself tested for body fat - If you want to make sure if you're able to hit your goals, you should get yourself tested for body fat. Getting tested does not have to be done on a weekly basis. You can do it prior to starting your program, and again a month or two after. Many gyms offer body fat assessments for free or at very reasonable prices.
