It IS actually good advice. Good posture not only helps prevent numerous bone and joint problems and can make you look taller, it can also help you look thinner, aside from the fact that it can develop the core muscles of your body.

It's not much exercise, but every little bit helps. By flexing your abs, you're able to maintain a good to perfect posture and burn a few calories at the same time. Flexing and holding trains your muscles to automatically hold their position to keep your posture straight.


Standing up straight can help you keep your abdominal muscles tightened, which can develop the strength of your stomach and make you lose weight.

In short, sit up straight!
